Derrick is currently the Front Office Manager at Banana Bay Resort & Marina in Marathon. He has also worked at Conch Key Cottages as the General Manager, the old Buccaneer Resort as the Asst. Front Desk Manager. He has been living in the Keys for the last 5 years after coming down on vacation from Cleveland, Ohio.

Larry Shaffer is a published author and 25 year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He writes free form poetry and sci-fi novels. Larry is an active member of the Marathon community and serves as a liaison to the Overseas Village Board of Directors from the Middle Keys Community Land Trust. He is the webmaster for the MKCLT website and avid cat lover.
