Hurricane
Debris/Clean-up
"The current hurricane threat is very low at this time.
*In case of a storm event, please consider the following:
Everyone needs to properly dispose of storm debris. Separate your storm debris into the following categories:
• Hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals, batteries, computer equipment
• Yard waste, including branches, leaves and other plant material
• Construction debris such as lumber, drywall, roofing material and rolled carpeting
• White goods such as appliances; remember to remove the doors before putting them at the curb
REMEMBER: ONLY STORM DEBRIS WILL BE PICKED UP. DO NOT INCLUDE NON-STORM RELATED DEBRIS.
Debris pickup will be announced by the city. Failure to have your storm debris removed or regular garbage mixed in with debris may result in fines. The debris should be piled at the curb. It will not be picked up if it is sitting on private property. Debris does not have to be bundled or cut up. Make sure the debris piles do not block traffic or the block the driveways or parking areas of adjacent properties. Keep in mind power lines which are directly over top of the debris pile may cause a problem with pick up. Do not obstruct water mains, cable boxes, postal boxes or any other utility present.
Regular household garbage will be picked up as it usually is. Place it in the appropriate waste disposal container on the usual pickup day."
We will publish pictures after the event.
